How Former Michigan, Cleveland Browns receiver saves a man’s life
Braylon Edwards, who last played in the NFL in 2012, reached the pinnacle of his 41-year-old life on Saturday with a remarkable act of heroism. The former standout wide receiver from Michigan, who earned Pro Bowl honors with the Cleveland Browns in 2007, enjoyed an eight-season career in the NFL, featuring stints with the Browns, New York Jets, San Francisco 49ers, and Seattle Seahawks.
However, Edwards’ most notable achievement occurred off the football field. According to WDIV News in Chicago, he courageously intervened to save the life of an 80-year-old man who was being attacked at a YMCA. Amidst the violent assault perpetrated by a 25-year-old assailant in a locker room, Edwards emerged as a hero, swiftly coming to the elderly man’s rescue.
While Edwards amassed impressive career statistics of 5,522 receiving yards and 40 receiving touchdowns during his time in the NFL, his recent act of bravery stands out as a moment he will forever cherish, transcending any on-field accomplishments.
