The PGA Tour Enterprises board, as outlined in a statement from the PGA Tour, will prioritize initiatives related to enhancing fan engagement, fostering growth, and exploring new avenues for media, sponsorship, and commercial opportunities.

Active PGA Tour players, including Patrick Cantlay, Peter Malnati, Adam Scott, Webb Simpson, and Jordan Spieth, alongside former player Joe Ogilvie, have been appointed to the board. Additionally, Joe Gorder, an independent director on the tour’s policy board, has been named to the PGA Tour Enterprises board.

PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan has been appointed as the chief executive officer of the group. The formation of this group stems from a previous announcement made in June, where the PGA Tour, Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, and Europe-based DP World Tour revealed plans to consolidate their commercial operations.

As discussions continue with the Public Investment Fund (PIF) and the Saudi backers of LIV Golf, the Strategic Sports Group (SSG), led by Fenway Sports Group, has emerged as a significant player in the landscape. The SSG recently announced a substantial investment and strategic partnership aimed at maximizing revenue generation and enhancing the global presence of golf.

Monahan expressed enthusiasm for the involvement of current and former players, emphasizing their valuable insights into member priorities. The SSG has appointed four directors: John W. Henry, Arthur M. Blank, Andrew B. Cohen, and Sam Kennedy, each bringing diverse expertise and experience from their respective fields.

Henry, Blank, Cohen, and Kennedy will collaborate with Player Directors to ensure that the commercial growth of the sport aligns with the interests of fans and players alike. The PGA Tour Enterprises Board will soon elect a chairman to lead its activities.
