No Response From Tiger Woods

The renowned Spanish golfer, Jon Rahm, stands out as one of the most prominent acquisitions made by LIV Golf chairman Greg Norman, having inked a deal with the breakaway league in December reportedly worth $500 million.

The gradual exodus of players from the established PGA and DP World Tours, coupled with the prospect of a partnership with Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, has prompted a notable shift in perception towards LIV Golf among initial skeptics.

Rory McIlroy, initially a staunch critic of LIV Golf, altered his stance after witnessing several of his peers join the league.

In an interview with ESPN, Rahm disclosed that he reached out to Tiger Woods via text, although he is yet to receive a response.

“I mean, Tiger, I texted him and the people that try to reach out, you know, the process, when I signed and I just let him know, ‘Hey, you know, this is a personal decision. I have nothing against anybody’,” stated the world number three.

“Rory has been supportive publicly of my decision, and he was privately as well,” Rahm added.

For Rahm, the appeal lies in the prospect of playing less golf for greater financial reward and spending more time with his family.

“This is a new change… a big change,” he emphasized.

“I don’t want to skip through this point: A big change how golfers get compensated. I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t a big part of it. In a nutshell, I’m getting more to play the same sport and have more time. I don’t know about most people, but that sounds great to me.”
