Leading the charge, linebacker Tommy Eichenberg, defensive end J.T. Tuimoloau, and cornerback Denzel Burke garnered first-team All-Big Ten accolades. Eichenberg and Tuimoloau received nods from both coaches and media, while Burke secured a first-team spot from the coaches. Eichenberg, named the Butkus-Fitzgerald Linebacker of the Year, capped a standout fifth season, topping the team in tackles with 80 despite missing two games.
Tuimoloau continued his ascent with four sacks, 34 total tackles, six tackles for a loss, and defensive prowess, while Burke rebounded impressively, tallying 19 total tackles, two tackles for a loss, one interception, and leading the team with nine passes defended.
Ohio State’s second-team All-Big Ten standouts feature defensive tackle Tyleik Williams, defensive end Jack Sawyer, and kicker Jayden Fielding. Williams showcased his dominance on the interior, recording 50 total tackles, 10 tackles for a loss, three sacks, and making significant contributions. Sawyer emerged as a relentless force, notching 44 total tackles, 7 tackles for a loss, 3.5 sacks, and defensive playmaking.
Fielding, a first-year starter, claimed the spotlight by ranking fourth in the Big Ten in field goal percentage, making 15 of 18 attempts, along with impressive kickoffs averaging 63.13 yards and 43 touchbacks.
Rounding out the stellar lineup, Ohio State’s third-team All-Big Ten selections include linebacker Steele Chambers, safety Josh Proctor, and defensive tackle Michael Hall Jr. Chambers displayed his prowess with 75 total stops, 1.5 tackles for a loss, and an interception. Proctor, in his sixth year, proved instrumental with 41 total tackles, four tackles for a loss, eight passes defended, and a touchdown-returning interception. Despite statistical expectations, Hall’s impact was felt with 21 total tackles, 2 tackles for a loss, and 1.5 sacks, showcasing his defensive presence for the Buckeyes.
