In their lopsided victory over the Michigan State Spartans on Saturday, the Ohio State Buckeyes were without a number of important defensive players; but, it appears that most of them will be back when the team plays the Michigan Wolverines in two weeks.

Josh Proctor and Lathan Ransom, the starting safeties, and starting linebacker Tommy Eichenberg were not there for Ohio State. at his Saturday press conference following the game. Ryan Day provided a brief update on each player at his postgame press conference on Saturday. He said that while Ransom’s injury may be more “long-term,” Eichenberg and Proctor should return “soon.”

“It’s not long-term, but it will be week-to-week, and we feel like we’re gonna get him back here soon,” Day said when asked about Eichenberg according to Eleven Warriors. “Lathan’s more long-term, but I think with Proc, we’re gonna get him back here real soon.”

During Saturday night’s game, Ransom was shown on the sidelines with his leg elevated on a moving cart and his foot in a boot, which fuelled rumors that he would be out for an extended amount of time.

It goes without saying that the Buckeyes want to play Michigan when they are back to full strength.
