Elijhah Badger Declares for 2025 NFL Draft in Farewell Message to Florida Gators

Elijhah Badger, who joined the Florida Gators for the 2024 season as a key offensive asset, has officially announced his decision to declare for the 2025 NFL Draft. The standout wide receiver made the announcement on Christmas Day, marking the end of his collegiate career and leaving the Gators with a significant void to fill in their offense.

The former Arizona State star transferred to Florida ahead of the 2024 season, bringing high expectations—and he delivered. Badger emerged as the Gators’ leading receiver, tallying 806 receiving yards while showcasing his ability to make game-changing plays.

In a heartfelt farewell message shared on social media, Badger expressed his gratitude and excitement for the next chapter of his career:

“After much prayer and reflection, I am proud to declare for the 2025 NFL Draft. This is the culmination of years of hard work and dedication, and I am ready to take the next step in my career. I carry with me all the lessons I’ve learned, and I will forever be grateful to everyone who has been part of my story. Thank you!”

Badger’s impact on the field was undeniable during the 2024 season. He played in 12 games, starting in eight, and ranked sixth nationally with an impressive 20.67 yards per catch. Additionally, his 67.2 receiving yards per game placed him eighth among SEC players, cementing his reputation as a reliable deep-threat receiver.

Despite the loss of Badger, the Gators have already taken steps to bolster their receiving corps. Florida recently secured commitments from UCLA transfer J. Michael Sturdivant and 5-star recruit Dallas Wilson, who flipped his commitment from Oregon.

Badger’s departure leaves Florida with big shoes to fill, but his legacy as a dynamic playmaker will not soon be forgotten. As he embarks on his professional journey, the Gators will look to their new additions to help carry the load in the upcoming season.
