Eagles Pull Off ‘Blockbuster’ Trade to Snag NFC Rival’s RB!

The Philadelphia Eagles may be in the market for a new starting running back in the upcoming offseason.

A proposed trade by Liam Jenkins of Philly Sports Network suggests the Eagles would offer their second-round draft pick (No. 50), a compensatory fifth-round pick (No. 170), and tight end Jack Driscoll to acquire Seattle Seahawks running back Kenneth Walker III.

Walker has been the Seahawks’ primary running back for his first two seasons in the NFL, amassing 1,955 yards and 17 touchdowns with an average of 4.4 yards per carry.

Jenkins notes that Walker produced 905 rushing yards last season, and the Eagles are known for their conservative spending on running backs. Acquiring Walker, still on his rookie deal, at a reasonable price could bolster their rushing offense alongside lead back Kenny Gainwell.

Walker has established himself as one of the league’s top young running backs, finishing second in Offensive Rookie of the Year voting and ranking among the top performers in offensive and rushing grades, per Pro Football Focus.

Despite Walker’s success, the Seahawks have depth at the running back position, including Zach Charbonnet, who had a solid rookie season.

The Eagles face the departure of several running backs in free agency, including Pro Bowler D’Andre Swift, leading to speculation about their future strategy at the position. The team’s tendency to be thrifty with running back contracts, evidenced by the departure of Miles Sanders after a strong season, suggests they may explore options like trading for Walker to replace Swift with a more budget-friendly option.
