Browns to host Vikings

On Tuesday, the Browns revealed that the Minnesota Vikings are set to journey to Cleveland for joint training camp sessions this summer.

Prior to the commencement of the 2023 season, Minnesota engaged in joint practices with the Cardinals and Titans, followed by preseason matchups against both teams on home turf. The announcement of the Vikings’ visit to Cleveland strongly suggests the possibility of a preseason clash between the two teams.

Specific dates and times for these joint practices are yet to be determined.

The ties between the Browns and the Vikings extend deep into the organizations. Kwesi Adofo-Mensah, the current Vikings GM, previously served in the Browns’ front office. Additionally, Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski boasts a longstanding coaching tenure with the Vikings before assuming his current role in Cleveland. Notably, the Browns roster includes former defensive standouts from the Vikings, namely Za’Darius Smith and Dalvin Tomlinson.

Cleveland’s impressive performance in the 2023 season, finishing second in the AFC North with an 11-6 record, earned Stefanski his second NFL Coach of the Year accolade.

The last encounter between the Vikings and Browns took place in Week 4 of the 2021 season, culminating in a 14-7 victory for Minnesota at U.S. Bank Stadium.
