The San Francisco 49ers have officially inked one-year contracts with defensive tackles Earnest Brown IV and Raymond Johnson III. Brown IV, a fifth-round pick by the Los Angeles Rams in 2021, has seen limited action over the past three years, starting in just three games. In the 2023 season, he appeared in seven games and tallied five tackles.

On the other hand, Johnson III entered the league as an undrafted free agent in 2021, spending his rookie year with the New York Giants. After a brief stint with the Cincinnati Bengals practice squad in 2022, he joined the Detroit Lions practice squad for the 2023 season. Throughout his career, Johnson III has played in a total of 15 games.

The 49ers have been active in free agency this week, with Johnson III and Brown IV being among the latest additions. Here’s a rundown of all the free agents the team has brought in:

– DL Raymond Johnson III
– DL Earnest Brown IV
– DL Alex Barrett
– DL Austin Bryant
– OL Corey Luciano
– DL T.Y. McGill
– OL Sebastian Gutierrez
– DB Kemon Hall
– S Erik Harris
– S Tayler Hawkins
– WR Tay Martin
– DL Sam Okuayinonu
– LB Curtis Robinson
– TE Jake Tonges
– DL Spencer Waege

Johnson and Brown are notable as they are the first signings from outside the organization, while the rest of the players either concluded the season with the 49ers or had stints on the team’s practice squad during the previous year.
