West Ham have reached an agreement in principle to sign Palmeiras forward Luis Guilherme, sources have told Newsmen.

The 18-year-old winger is set to arrive in London on Saturday for a medical and to finalize the deal.

Guilherme is expected to become the Hammers’ second signing of the summer after Wes Foderingham, who agreed to join on a free transfer effective 1 July. The young Brazilian is considered a huge talent at Palmeiras, and West Ham have acted swiftly to secure an agreement before the transfer window opens next Friday (14 June).

Guilherme has had a strong start to the season in Brazil, appearing in five of their seven league matches with one goal and one assist.

He has previously been dubbed the “next Kylian Mbappe,” largely due to an impressive top speed of 36.4 km/h clocked in 2022. Sources say Liverpool turned down the opportunity to sign Luis Guilherme this summer.

The young talent has played on both the left and right wing for Palmeiras, with his latest appearance in a 2-1 win over Criciuma last Sunday (2 June). He is now set to join Julien Lopetegui’s side after the Spaniard succeeded David Moyes at the London Stadium.

Guilherme is set to join the Hammers well in advance of their pre-season tour of the United States this summer.

The Irons are scheduled to travel to Florida in July to take on Wolves and Crystal Palace in the Stateside Cup.
