Proposed Vikings Trade

Confronted with the potential departure of Antonio Pierce to another team in the upcoming offseason, Maxx Crosby hinted at the likelihood of initiating a trade request as he and the Raiders assess their respective options. Speaking on “The Rush with Maxx Crosby” on January 13, Crosby expressed his openness to considering all possibilities, emphasizing that he has a strong desire to remain a Raider for the entirety of his career. However, he acknowledged that if circumstances lead to a rebuilding phase, he would need to contemplate every potential avenue, leaving no options off the table.

In a hypothetical trade scenario, the Vikings could capitalize on this situation. The proposed deal would involve the Vikings acquiring Maxx Crosby along with a 2025 sixth-round pick, while the Raiders would receive a 2024 first-round pick, a 2024 third-round pick, a 2025 first-round pick, and a 2025 fourth-round pick.

Crosby, aged 26, is entering this potential trade scenario coming off a remarkable season with 14.5 sacks, marking his second consecutive campaign with double-digit sacks.

If the Vikings were to pursue Crosby in this imagined trade, it is suggested that they strive to retain their second first-round pick, especially if they plan on retaining Kirk Cousins. However, it is acknowledged that such a decision might be challenging, given the dynamic nature of the situation and the potential benefits of securing a player of Crosby’s caliber for their roster.
