It was only a matter of time.

The Orioles announced a multi-year partnership with T. Rowe Price on Monday, which will see the investment and wealth management firm’s logo featured as a uniform patch on Baltimore’s jerseys for all regular-season and postseason games. The patch, displaying the firm’s bighorn sheep logo against a blue background, marks the beginning of a significant collaboration between the two entities.

Starting Tuesday, the Orioles will debut the uniform patch during their series opener against the Atlanta Braves. The sponsorship deal, spearheaded by David Rubenstein, Baltimore’s control person and a prominent billionaire and philanthropist, along with his partners at Charm City Sports (Michael Arougheti, Mitchell Goldstein, and Michael Smith), signals a bright future for both the Orioles and the City of Baltimore.

“The future of the Baltimore Orioles and the City of Baltimore is bright,” Rubenstein said in a statement. “We are delighted to welcome T. Rowe Price to Birdland at such an eventful time on and off the field. Our organizations share a dedication to hard work, innovation, professionalism, and integrity, and we have committed our long-term futures to this city. We look forward to a long, successful partnership as we work to bring the World Series trophy back to Baltimore.”

Arougheti also expressed optimism about the collaboration, stating, “On behalf of the ownership group, I’d like to welcome the T. Rowe Price team to the Orioles family. We are confident that together we can achieve great things both on the field and in the greater Baltimore community.”

The agreement aligns with a collective bargaining agreement from 2022, permitting MLB teams to secure uniform patch sponsors. Since then, over half of the 30 organizations have announced similar partnerships, with significant financial benefits. Notably, the Yankees and Red Sox secured substantial contracts with Starr and Mass Mutual, respectively.

T. Rowe Price, headquartered in Baltimore, is slated to open a new office in Harbor Point later this year. The collaboration will extend beyond the uniform patch, encompassing ballpark signage at Camden Yards and brand visibility at the Orioles’ spring training facility in Sarasota, Florida.

T.J. Brightman, the Orioles’ senior vice president and chief revenue officer, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, emphasizing its positive impact on the Birdland community. He stated, “This partnership acknowledges the strong Baltimore Orioles brand, and we are elated to bring together two Baltimore institutions to positively impact our Birdland community.”

Theresa McLaughlin, head of global marketing for T. Rowe Price, emphasized the significance of the sponsorship as part of the firm’s broader brand strategy. She remarked, “This marquee sponsorship with the Orioles is an important part of a comprehensive global brand strategy for T. Rowe Price and our active management capabilities. It gives us a terrific platform through Major League Baseball to reach millions of fans nationally and internationally. Through our market research, we know our clients and prospects are highly engaged and watching. We’re so excited to deepen our ties with the Orioles and bring this partnership to life. We can’t wait to get started.”
