Aside from Marvin Harrison Jr., another notable legacy prospect entering the spotlight this summer is Frank Gore Jr., who declared for the 2024 NFL Draft after completing four seasons with the Southern Miss Golden Eagles. Following in his father’s footsteps as a running back, Frank Gore Jr. shows promise and has the potential to excel, according to his father.

His collegiate career at Southern Miss was nothing short of impressive, accumulating 4,022 rushing yards, 26 rushing touchdowns on 759 rushes, and showcasing versatility with 75 receptions for 692 receiving yards and 26 receiving touchdowns. Recently, during the East-West Shrine Bowl, Gore Jr. secured the game’s MVP honors, featuring a standout 49-yard touchdown run on a crucial third-and-1 play.

Frank Gore expressed satisfaction with his son’s performance at the East-West Shrine Bowl, emphasizing that the experience demonstrated Gore Jr.’s capabilities as a football player. Playing alongside Power Five athletes during the bowl reinforced his potential, and many regarded him as the standout at his position.

Considering the San Francisco 49ers’ 11 draft picks, there is speculation that they might consider taking a chance on Frank Gore Jr. in the draft. Drawing parallels to the elder Gore, who was selected No. 65 by the team in 2005, there’s potential for a similar storyline with his son.
