Joshua’s September Card to Feature Double Heavyweight Title Fights!

Anthony Joshua is set to face Daniel Dubois in three months, aiming to become boxing’s fifth three-time heavyweight champion. As the announcement nears, speculation about the undercard is growing, suggesting Joshua and Dubois might not be the only Britons in heavyweight title fights.

Fabio Wardley and Frazer Clarke, both undefeated, previously clashed for the British heavyweight title in March. Their fight at the O2 Arena was a thrilling contest that ended in a draw, with Wardley retaining the belt.

A rematch was anticipated once their injuries healed, but news of a second fight had been scarce. However, Frazer Clarke’s promoter, Ben Shalom, revealed to Seconds Out that Wardley-Clarke II might take place on Turki Al-Alshikh’s Anthony Joshua card at Wembley Stadium.

“I can’t lie, we would have loved to do that rematch and we were hoping to do it at the end of August. For whatever reason, it hasn’t happened but there is potential I hear for it to come on the Saudi card on September 21st, which is another huge option,” Shalom said. He expressed enthusiasm for the rematch, highlighting how both fighters’ reputations were bolstered by their first encounter.

In addition to these heavyweight bouts, another fight being discussed is a middleweight clash between newly-confirmed free agent Chris Eubank Jr. and undefeated rising star Hamzah Sheeraz. The winner is expected to be in line for a world title shot.

The full Joshua-Dubois card will be announced in London on June 25th, according to Al-Alshikh. However, rumors of Naoya Inoue’s participation seem false, as he is now expected to headline a fight against TJ Doheny in Japan for his second defense of the undisputed super-bantamweight title.
