With an augmented salary cap, general manager Brad Holmes made the straightforward decision to grant the 29-year-old a lucrative extension. Jalen Reeves-Maybin, a special teams standout who also contributed as a linebacker, has secured a two-year contract extension, committing him to the Detroit Lions for the next two seasons. The 2017 fourth-round pick received recognition in 2023, being named to the second-team All-Pro and earning his first Pro Bowl selection. Leading the NFL with 14 special teams tackles, he recorded a total of 20 tackles and one sack in Aaron Glenn’s defensive scheme. Reeves-Maybin,  embodying the Detroit Lions’ philosophy of rewarding impactful players, is praised not only for his on-field contributions but also for his leadership qualities. Special teams coordinator Dave Fipp commended his leadership style, describing him as a leader by example who also imparts guidance to his teammates when needed. The financial details of Reeves-Maybin’s new NFL contract extension are outlined below.
