Celtic Stirs Controversy with LeBron James Jab Post 40k Points!

Los Angeles Lakers’ LeBron James recently achieved a historic milestone, surpassing 40,000 career points in the NBA. While this accomplishment marks a remarkable feat unmatched by any other NBA player, former Boston Celtics center Enes Freedom expressed his disapproval.

After James reached the 40,000-point mark, Freedom took to his social media account to take a swipe at LeBron’s integrity. This criticism comes amid a history of clashes between Freedom and James, including a heated encounter during Freedom’s tenure with the New York Knicks in 2017.

Since entering the NBA, Freedom has been known for his activism, often vocalizing his critiques of various issues, including the Turkish government. In 2021, he legally changed his last name to Freedom upon becoming a United States citizen.

Freedom’s NBA journey included stints with the Celtics across two seasons. Initially playing for Boston during the 2019-20 season, he returned to the team in 2021 before being traded midseason in 2022 to the Houston Rockets.

This isn’t the first time Freedom has targeted LeBron’s integrity. Previously, when James set the record for the most points scored by an NBA player in 2023, surpassing ex-Laker Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Freedom criticized LeBron’s character and alleged ties to China in a tweet.

In addition to his criticism of James, Freedom has also voiced concerns about the Celtics’ treatment of Kemba Walker. He recounted an incident during the 2020 bubble where Walker, despite being injured, was allegedly pressured to play by the Celtics’ coaching and management staff.

Walker, a four-time NBA All-Star, has been out of the league since 2023 after stints with the Knicks and Mavericks. Freedom’s remarks shed light on what he perceives as the mistreatment of Walker by the Celtics organization.
