Former Bruins Draft Pick Anders Bjork Signs Professional Tryout with Milwaukee Admirals

A former Boston Bruins draft pick has secured a new opportunity in professional hockey. Anders Bjork, selected by the Bruins in the fifth round of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft, has signed a professional tryout contract with the Milwaukee Admirals, the AHL affiliate of the Nashville Predators. The Admirals announced the agreement on Sunday.

Bjork, a standout collegiate player and a 2017 finalist for the Hobey Baker Award while at Notre Dame, previously played alongside Patrice Bergeron and Brad Marchand on the Bruins’ top line. However, his career has been impacted by injuries, including left shoulder surgery in 2018 and right shoulder surgery in 2024.

In 2021, Bjork was part of the trade that brought Taylor Hall to Boston, sending him to the Buffalo Sabres. He was later traded to the Chicago Blackhawks in 2023, where he contributed eight points in 13 games during the latter half of the 2022-23 season.

Bjork spent the 2023-24 season in the AHL with the Rockford IceHogs, amassing an impressive 27 points in 40 games. The Admirals’ upcoming schedule includes a five-game road trip, starting Sunday with a matchup against Bjorkโ€™s former team, the Rockford IceHogs.

The Admirals’ addition of Bjork offers the 27-year-old forward a chance to continue his professional career and showcase his abilities in hopes of returning to the NHL.
