Wigan Warriors Captain Liam Farrell Ruled Out for Season After ACL Injury

Wigan Warriors have suffered a major blow, with captain Liam Farrell ruled out for the season after tearing his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in training. The injury will sideline him for approximately nine months, forcing the Warriors to navigate the campaign without their influential leader.

Farrell, 33, is scheduled to undergo surgery on Tuesday before beginning an extensive rehabilitation process. His absence is a significant setback for Wigan, given his leadership and vast experience. Wigan Warriors head coach Matt Peet expressed his disappointment over the injury but remained supportive of Farrell’s recovery. “Liam is a vital part of our team, both as a player and as a leader.
