Logan Rumsey Dominates at Eldora to Edge Closer to World of Outlaws Pro Series Title

Logan Rumsey took a significant step toward securing the 2024-25 World of Outlaws Pro Series championship with a masterful performance at Eldora Speedway on Monday night. Overcoming early setbacks, Rumsey claimed his third victory of the season, reinforcing his lead in the championship standings.

Despite missing out on the top-eight in qualifying, Rumsey showcased resilience and skill. He won his Heat race, started 10th in the Feature, and worked his way through the field to claim victory. Speaking after the race, Rumsey reflected on his performance:

“We just had a really good car there. You never really know what’s going to happen at Eldora. The track was actually pretty racey at the start, but it was hectic. Right on the first lap, a car spun across my screen, and I almost thought I was going to wreck. After that, we just started picking cars off. The car was unbelievably fast, and we were able to blow past people. I slowly got up front, and while it was unfortunate Adam (Elby) got spun out, it allowed me to take the lead.”

Kendal Tucker Stays in Contention

Rumsey’s main rival, Kendal Tucker, also faced challenges after failing to secure an automatic transfer through the Heats. Tucker’s top-10 streak appeared in jeopardy when he was relegated to the Last Chance Races. However, he fought back, winning his race and advancing to the Feature. Starting from 18th on the grid, Tucker climbed to eighth by the checkered flag, maintaining his top-10 streak for the season. Despite losing 26 points to Rumsey, Tucker remains mathematically in contention heading into the season finale at The Dirt Track at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Key Qualifying Results

The new points format, which grants automatic Feature transfers to the top-eight qualifiers and reverses their order for the starting grid, played a pivotal role. JD Brown secured the fastest lap, earning 25 championship points and starting eighth in the Feature. Matthew Powell, who qualified eighth, started on the pole. Rumsey, Tucker, and others were sent to the Heats to fight for their spots in the Feature.
