Unbelievable Feat! Michigan’s Blake Corum Shatters Records in Epic Showdown Against Ohio State – You Won’t Believe What Happened!
Entering his final game at Michigan Stadium, running back Blake Corum was prepared for an emotional experience. It marked not only his farewell appearance at the Big House wearing the iconic winged helmet but also a unique opportunity to participate in the renowned sports rivalry in peak physical condition.
Reflecting on the significance of the moment, Corum expressed, “Last two years – sophomore year, a little banged up with the ankle, last year tried but couldn’t, so this game means a lot. Not only is it my first time being healthy, but it’s going to be my last in the Big House, playing in front of the best fanbase with my brothers and the best coaches. So I’m super excited, to say the least.”
Addressing the monumental occasion of playing in front of 110,000 fans for his final Big House game, Corum conveyed his gratitude to the University of Michigan. He expressed, “Iām so glad I chose the University of Michigan, and the University of Michigan chose me. Iām just thankful, man, Iām excited ā and hopefully we can end with a bang.”
True to his aspirations of leaving a lasting impact, Corum delivered a remarkable performance in his farewell at Michigan Stadium. The Wolverines secured their third consecutive victory against the Buckeyes with a score of 30-24, and Corum played a pivotal role, leading all rushers with 88 yards and two touchdowns on 22 carries.
Corum’s accomplishments on Saturday also solidified his place in the record books:
– His two rushing touchdowns set a new U-M single-season rushing touchdown record at 22, surpassing Hassan Haskins’ previous mark of 20 in 2021.
– With a one-yard rushing score in the first quarter, Corum recorded his 21st rushing touchdown of the season.
– Scoring his second rushing touchdown from 22 yards out in the third quarter, Corum contributed to Ohio State’s defense allowing only three rushing touchdowns all season.
– With 53 career rushing touchdowns, Corum now holds the second position on the career rushing scores list, trailing only Anthony Thomas (55).
– As the sole player in the FBS to score in every game this season, Corum continues to make a consistent impact.
