According to reports, former Boston Celtics center Kelly Olynyk has inked a multiyear contract extension worth $26.25 million with the Toronto Raptors.

Now in his 11th NBA season, Olynyk, who hails from Toronto, was traded to the Raptors from the Utah Jazz on February 8. Scheduled to hit unrestricted free agency this summer, Olynyk opted to secure his future with the Raptors by agreeing to the extension before the June 30 deadline.

Standing at seven feet tall, Olynyk has been contributing an average of 8.2 points, five rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game this season, shooting an impressive 55.6 percent from the field and 41.8 percent from beyond the arc. Since joining the Raptors, he’s been averaging 9.6 points over nine games.

This season, Olynyk has achieved career-best numbers in assists and field goal percentage, distinguishing himself as one of only six players shooting 39 percent from three-point range and 60 percent on two-pointers, as reported by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Having maintained a 37.4 percent three-point shooting average over the last five seasons, Olynyk garnered attention from multiple teams leading up to the trade deadline.

Toronto sought to strengthen their frontcourt by acquiring Olynyk, pairing him with Jakob Poeltl. With this extension, the Raptors have secured Olynyk’s services through the 2025–2026 season.
