Yet, there’s a catch—they are leaning towards keeping him at a reduced salary. Meirov revealed that discussions between Robinson’s representatives and Steelers officials took place during the combine held in Indianapolis.

At present, Robinson carries a significant cap hit of $11,917,500 for the 2024 season, as indicated by Spotrac. Should the Steelers opt to release him, a dead cap hit of $1,917,500 would come into play.

Reflecting on Robinson’s recent performance with the Steelers paints a mixed picture. While his statistical output in the 2023 season—34 receptions for 280 yards and no touchdowns—fell short of expectations, it’s worth noting that it stands as one of the least productive seasons of his career, discounting a one-game stint back in 2017 with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
