The Cubs Convention scheduled for January 12-14, 2024, has unveiled its details, and notable omissions include sessions with the Ricketts family and President of Business Operations Crane Kenney. According to Meghan Montemurro at the Tribune, this decision stems from a fan survey in which those panels were ranked 11th and 12th out of 13 experiences.

Instead, attendees can anticipate an engaging lineup of events. The Opening Ceremony on Friday, January 12, will showcase players, alumni, and the induction of the new Chicago Cubs Hall of Fame Class of 2024. The day continues with the return of the late-night talk show “Off the Mound with Ryan Dempster” and concludes with “Harry Carayoke.”

Saturday, January 13, features various sessions such as the Baseball Operations Update with Jed Hoyer and Carter Hawkins, A Conversation with Craig Counsell, Pitchers Session: On the Mound, Hitters Session: At the Plate, The Sweet ’16 Squad with members of the Cubs World Series Championship team, and The Core from ’84 with members of the Cubs 1984 team on their 40th anniversary.

Returning favorites include the Kids Only Press Conference, a live recording of The Compound podcast with Cubs outfielder Ian Happ, Cubs Bingo, and more “Harry Carayoke.” Saturday afternoon includes a reception where guests can interact with Cubs Executive Chairman Tom Ricketts.

In response to the popularity of archive display rooms, these history-filled spaces will return on Friday and Saturday, showcasing never-before-seen items from the Cubs Archives collection, including jerseys, bats, baseballs, trophies, and awards. An archive display room dedicated to the Cubs 1984 team will provide insight into the creation of the Ryne Sandberg statue and showcase artifacts from the team.

Cubs Authentics will host a live auction on Friday and Saturday, featuring items from the 2023 season, including game-used jerseys from Justin Steele’s 16th win, Seiya Suzuki’s 19th home run, Dansby Swanson’s jersey worn for four games, Ian Happ’s jersey worn for seven games, and more.

Additionally, the popular youth baseball and softball clinic, now in its second year, offers an opportunity for young players to enhance their skills with instruction from alumni, players, and Cubs Nike RBI coaches. Limited spots are available for Sunday’s clinic.

Hotel packages and single-day passes are still available, with more information provided.
