The newly appointed general manager, Chris Getz, has confirmed that the White Sox have engaged in discussions with various teams regarding the 2022 Cy Young runner-up. However, as of now, there is no imminent deal on the horizon.

Despite Getz’s openness to trading Cease, who had a 4.58 earned run average, the highest since his rookie season, he emphasized the importance of finding a trade that would genuinely benefit the team. Getz stated that any potential move involving Dylan Cease or any other player would only happen if it aligns with the team’s goal for improvement.

“We’ve had discussions about Dylan Cease, but we’re not going to trade a player like Dylan or anyone else unless we believe it’s in the best interest of all parties involved.
