Simone Biles, and Several Other Stars Who You Didn’t Know Were Adopted.

Adoption stories are an often-overlooked aspect of celebrity lives, yet many stars credit these experiences as central to their identities. Olympic gymnast Simone Biles, one of the most decorated athletes in history, has spoken about her experience with adoption after being placed in foster care at a young age. Biles was adopted by her grandparents, Ron and Nellie Biles, whom she has always called “Mom” and “Dad.” She has emphasized how this stable, loving family environment allowed her to excel in gymnastics and find a sense of belonging that set her on the path to Olympic greatness.

Academy Award-winning actor Jamie Foxx also credits his grandparents for shaping his life after they adopted him at just seven months old. Raised by Estelle and Mark Tally, his mother’s adoptive parents, Foxx has described how they instilled discipline and resilience in him, values he carried into his career. In his memoir, Act Like You Got Some Sense, Foxx discusses how his grandmother’s influence and sacrifices made him the performer he is today.

Faith Hill, one of country music’s most successful singers, was also adopted as an infant by a devout Christian family in Mississippi. Hill’s adoption story took a poignant turn when she later sought out her birth mother, whom she met for the first time as an adult. Reflecting on that reunion, she described the profound experience of finally seeing someone who looked like her, underscoring a feeling of connection that she had longed for. Yet Hill remains grateful to her adoptive parents, whom she calls “incredible” for the love and support they provided her.

Iconic figures from various walks of life share similar stories. Steve Jobs, the co-founder of Apple, was adopted by Clara and Paul Jobs shortly after his birth. Despite being aware of his adoption from an early age, Jobs always regarded his adoptive parents as his true family. Though he later reconnected with his biological sister, writer Mona Simpson, Jobs found his main source of identity and purpose within the adoptive family who nurtured him and encouraged his innovative spirit.

Broadway and television star Kristin Chenoweth, who was adopted just days after birth, has openly discussed her gratitude toward her adoptive parents. Known for her roles in Wicked and other productions, Chenoweth has expressed how her parents’ love gave her the confidence to embrace her talents. She also uses her platform to advocate for adoption, sharing how her parents’ support helped her become a star.
