Philadelphia Eagles Hall of Famer has died….
Leo Carlin, a Hall of Famer for the Philadelphia Eagles, has passed away at the age of 86. The cause of death has not been disclosed.
Carlin initially joined the Eagles in 1960, contributing to the team’s ticketing department before progressing to a position in the front office by 1964. Notably, Carlin is recognized for his role in spearheading the Eagles’ status as the first NFL team to integrate ticketing with computer data processing.
Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie expressed deep sorrow at Carlin’s passing in a statement, saying, “We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Leo Carlin. Inducted into the Eagles Hall of Fame in 2010, Leo oversaw our ticket office for a remarkable 55 years. His kind and gentle demeanor was felt by everyone who had the privilege of crossing paths with him. Not only was he an incredible team ambassador committed to building and maintaining strong relationships with our season ticket members and fans alike, but Leo was also a great resource for me and everyone in our organization.”
Lurie continued, highlighting Carlin’s innovative contributions, especially in managing ticket operations across three stadiums—Franklin Field, Veterans Stadium, and Lincoln Financial Field. He concluded by expressing condolences and prayers on behalf of the Eagles family and fans to the Carlin family, emphasizing the enduring impact of Carlin’s warm personality, kindness, and his memorable catchphrase, ‘Sterling!’ when asked about his well-being.
