Cristiano Ronaldo has revealed that winning the FIFA World Cup is no longer something he considers a personal dream. The Portuguese superstar, who has enjoyed one of the most decorated careers in football history, admitted that his ambitions have evolved over time and that he finds fulfillment in other aspects of the game and life.
For many players, lifting the World Cup trophy represents the ultimate goal, the pinnacle of their sporting journey. However, Ronaldo shared that while he respects the significance of the tournament, he no longer views it as the defining measure of his career. The 39-year-old forward emphasized that he is proud of what he has already achieved and content with the legacy he continues to build.
Ronaldo’s trophy cabinet already boasts numerous titles, including five UEFA Champions League victories, domestic league triumphs in England, Spain, and Italy, and international success with Portugal at Euro 2016 and the Nations League in 2019. These accomplishments, he suggested, have given him a sense of completeness that goes beyond the pursuit of a single tournament.
Reflecting on his years in football, Ronaldo explained that his motivation now comes from maintaining his performance level, inspiring others, and continuing to play the game he loves at the highest standard possible.
