As AFL.com.au previously reported earlier in the month, Hore, who spent three years on the Demons’ list from 2019 to 2021 and played 14 games, officially reconnected with the club on Monday with the commencement of the Pre-Season Supplemental Selection Period (SSP).

Having missed the entire 2021 season due to a ruptured ACL, the 27-year-old joined North Melbourne as a rookie for 2022. He showcased his skills in the VFL with Williamstown, earning back-to-back selections in the VFL Team of the Year for 2022-23. Melbourne’s list manager, Tim Lamb, expressed his delight in welcoming Hore back to the club.

Lamb stated, “Marty has had a really strong two years in the VFL; firstly for North Melbourne and then most recently with Williamstown. We have kept a close eye on what he’s been able to produce and believe he has a lot to offer our program.”

Describing Hore as deserving of the opportunity, Lamb looks forward to having him as part of the red and blue team once again. Standing at 190cm, Hore, a medium defender, is expected to provide valuable support to key talls Steven May and Jake Lever, showcasing versatility by playing on medium forwards.

Hore joined the first-to-fourth-year players of the Demons as they resumed training on Monday, joining draftees Caleb Windsor, Koltyn Tholstrup, and Kynan Brown.
